Maybe your dream excursion is fishing for pacific halibut in the deep waters of the Gulf of Alaska. Or maybe it’s reeling in Alaskan silver salmon on their journey for the spawning streams, catching your limit in a matter of hours and leaving you plenty of time to enjoy other Alaska activities – until tomorrow, that is, when you head out on the water for the next day’s catch. Perhaps you've dreamed of remote Steelhead or river salmon fishing, but don't relish doing an expensive flight to a mosquito-infested locale in the interior of Alaska. Or maybe your dream excursion is less traditional, and involves simply ‘being there’ while hiking and camping on a remote island or seeking photo ops with sea lions, puffins, or humpback whales. Whatever your personal excursion looks like, Sound Excursion Charters can help make it a reality.
The excursion itself is always the focus, of course, but planning for it can be cumbersome. We can help you make knowledgeable decisions in preparation for your trip. We can assist with finding accommodations – either hotels, bed and breakfasts, or public forestry cabins on the Sound. We can also help identify other activities for your stay in the Valdez area – rafting, kayaking, or hiking on a glacier. We will take the time to hear what your interests are, and help you come up with as detailed or flexible an itinerary as you’d like. If we’re available, we’ll even pick you up at the airport.
Obviously, we’re not the traditional charter company.
What makes us that way is that we’re first and foremost lovers of travel, so we know what kinds of services are helpful. We’re also the kind of Alaskans who enjoy seeing others have a great time – so whatever we can do to help, we will. Perhaps most importantly, we’re lovers of the outdoors, and have decades of experience enjoying them in a wide variety of ways, so we know how to have fun out there . . . and how to set it up.
