The Boat: The M/V Irie (pronounced “eye-ray” or “eye-ree”, and meaning “no worries” in Jamaican)

The Irie is a 2007 WeldCraft "Ocean King" with a stand-up marine head, plenty of room in the cabin, and a nice fish deck – the perfect Alaska sport fishing boat. She measures 27 feet, and is a boat designed for the unique ocean waters facing Alaska fishing. She has few frills, but is built with true-grit craftsmanship, as evidenced on a few rough water trips she’s seen. Powered by a fuel-efficient and low-emission outboard, she cruises at 25 knots and is one of the smoothest riding boats in her class. She has a large cabin with seating for 6, and is equipped with everything you will need for your great Alaska fishing or wilderness excursion.

The Irie ties up in Slip G-32 at the Valdez Small Boat Harbor.  Follow the ramp next to the Harbormaster's Office down to the docks; the G-Dock is the farthest on the left, and Slip #32 is about 3/4 of the way down on the left.
