Water Taxi

There are a number of lodges and forestry cabins in the area. Sound Excursion Charters will provide dependable, cost-effective water-taxi for your needs. The M/V Irie provides comfortable transport protected from the elements, as well as a private marine head, at an affordable price.

Rates: Vary according to the number of passengers and locations for delivery.  For most trips, the rate will fall between $100 and $150 an hour.

Sightseeing

Prince William Sound has an astonishing amount of wildlife, and you are virtually assured of seeing several different types of wildlife. We will tailor any sightseeing trip to your interests, offering glaciers, rookeries for bird-viewing (yes, puffins are common in some locations), sea lions, sea otters among the “nearly guaranteed” sightings; orcas (killer whales), humpback whales, Dall’s porpoises, and Pacific Grey Side Dolphin are frequent sightings in the Sound.

Wildlife is far from everything there is to see, however. Alaska in general, and Prince William Sound in particular, has breath-taking scenery at any site. Putting on shore at pristine locations is included on all sightseeing tours, giving opportunities to explore locations that have been visited by few human feet. Let us know at booking what your interests are, and we will tailor a sightseeing tour to your preferences.

Rates: $125 per hour for the first 4 hours; $100 per hour thereafter. Up to 6 persons.

Expeditions / Camping

We have limited camping equipment available, and can place you on a select location for any number of days you would like a truly remote camping experience. We will assist you in outfitting your trip, including planning food and having it ready for your trip on your arrival. We will pick you up at the airport, transport you water-taxi style to your location, and return to pick you up at your specified time. We can also assist you in making the appropriate arrangements with forestry agencies, as needed, or with booking forestry cabins. We will provide you with handheld VHF radio for emergency situations and for making contact as we arrive to pick you up from your wilderness location.
