We Provide:Bait, tackle, rods and reels, and all fishing gear needed. We also provide a cooler stocked with ice and water, and a large Thermos of good coffee to start your day off right (cups with lids, sugar, and creamer provided as well). Life vests are encouraged and provided (Coast Guard required Type I vests as well as the more comfortable Type III vests for anybody who would like to wear a vest at all times). We do not provide fish cleaning service; there are outstanding fish cleaners at the dock who provide that service for a very reasonable fee. For fish packaging, freezing, and shipping, we recommend Easy Freeze, located across from the Harbormaster's Office, at 204 Chitina Dr.
You Bring:Fishing license; Derby ticket (if you're participating in the Fish Derby); Layered clothing that includes rain gear; Skid-resistant and water-tolerant footwear; gloves and hat; Food and beverages – alcohol is permitted, but you are asked to limit consumption to 1-2 drinks per hour; Camera and/or video camera; anything else you want along that we don’t list as provided. Call us ahead of time if you would like recommendations for where prepared box lunches may be purchased. Please do not bring large coolers aboard -- again, we provide a cooler stocked with ice; if you bring a cooler, you will be asked to leave it at the dock. Please meet the boat 15 minutes prior to your departure time at Slip G-32 in the Valdez Small Boat Harbor. For overnight remote stream fishing trips: It is required that you bring appropriate clothing, including outerwear rated for adverse weather, and a hearty (25 deg F, or lower) sleeping bag for each client. We will discuss details for outfitting prior to booking.
Policies:PaymentA 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Full payment is due 3 days prior to the day of departure unless prior arrangments have been made; failure to do so will be considered a cancellation on your part, and your deposit will not be refunded in accordance with our 14-day cancellation policy. We accept Visa, Mastercard, cash, or check.
RefundsRefunds are available if cancellation is made 14 days or more prior to your trip; within 14 days, a refund will be granted if your seat on the charter is replaced with a new client. If the skipper cancels the trip due to inclement weather, a 100% refund will be granted all clients. Refunds due to early return to the dock for any reason will be at the discretion of the skipper. No Show PolicyAny clients who don’t show for their charter remain responsible for payment of the full fees. DamagesClients are responsible for loss of gear and tackle due to negligence. Any damage to the boat or other equipment due to irresponsibility of the client will be billed as well. SmokingSmoking is discouraged altogether. However, at the agreement of all clients, smoking will be permitted on the aft deck during transit or on the bow while anchored. Smoking is never permitted inside the cabin. AlcoholAlcohol is permitted on all trips, but all clients are asked to limit consumption to a level that ensures their safety as well as that of others. Belligerent behavior will result in immediate return to port without refund.
